Selama dua tahun menjabat sebagai penjabat Walikota, Muflihun telah menorehkan berbagai gebrakan positif, khususnya dalam memulihkan kota pasca ditinggal pemimpin sebelumnya yang telah habis masa jabatannya. Rekam jejak ini ia paparkan secara singkat namun tegas dalam debat, tanpa menyudutkan pihak lain.
Thabrani Al-Indragiri, tokoh pemuda Riau yang hadir dalam acara tersebut, mengapresiasi gaya komunikasi pasangan Muflihun dan Ade Hartati yang tampil berbeda. “Luar biasa, mereka tampil santai dan humanis, selalu melempar senyum kepada audiens. Mereka bicara apa adanya, tanpa merendahkan lawan atau memojokkan dengan pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang provokatif,” ujar Thabrani. Ia menambahkan, “Boleh kita naik tanpa memijak kepala orang.”
Gaya debat yang elegan ini menunjukkan bahwa Muflihun dan Ade Hartati tidak hanya mengandalkan program kerja, tetapi juga membawa pendekatan kepemimpinan yang berbudi luhur. Pendekatan ini dinilai banyak pihak sebagai cara yang tepat untuk memenangkan hati masyarakat Pekanbaru, yang mengharapkan sosok pemimpin yang tidak hanya cerdas, tetapi juga berintegritas dan beretika.
